Crime, Law and Society

You can't watch Netflix, Hulu, or YouTube today without coming across a show like NCIS about crime, murder, and the people who catch the bad guys. But what you see on those slick shows isn't always an accurate portrayal of the legal system or the criminal world. If you want to know what really goes on in this realm, sign up for our Crime Law and Society Program.

By taking courses in sociology, political science, psychology, anthropology, and history, among others, this interdisciplinary minor provides students with the knowledge and experiences they need to understand the origins of criminal behavior, the consequences of crime for society and the legal responses that societies develop to combat crime. Required internships are the hallmark of this program and these hands-on experiences allow students to apply what they have learned in the classroom to real-life circumstances.

If you're fascinated by the world of crime and how society truly deals with crime, take a closer look at our Crime, Law and Society Program. It's not always as it seems on TV.
